128 Top O the Lake

by Nathan Brown

This home on Top O the Lake is nice and spacious.    It is located on the 12th fairway of the Yaupon Golf Course in Lakeway.  You can see onto the golf course from the back of the home and a little bit of the hill country from the front of the home and from the master balcony.  It has a nice pool and a decently sized .33 acre lot.  There are 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 3,362 square feet.  The home was built in 1994 but the inside looks  a lot newer with granite counters and nice finish outs.  With this home you get golf course frontage, great schools, fairly close in location and Lakeway areas amenities all for $549,000

Serene Hills

by Nathan Brown

Serene Hills is a brand new community in the heart of Lakeway.  It is close to the hospital, school and main shopping areas of Lakeway.  Since the community is so new, their model homes have just opened and only a few residents have already moved in.  So far all the homes built in the community have been built by Brohn, Sitterle and Bellaheim homes.  The homes in the community start in the $500s and are built with quality and comfort in mind, providing the most luxurious and top of the line amenities and finish outs.  The community is just a short drive from downtown Austin and an even shorter drive out into the remote Hill Country with many parks such as Hamilton's Pool and Pedernales Falls State Park.  This community would be another great place to live in LTISD.  Check out their website: serene-hills.com

Sweetwater

by Nathan Brown

A Hill Country community, Sweetwater is located off 71 just outside of Bee Caves near Hamilton's Pool.  The neighborhood truly exemplifies the Hill Country experience.  It is in an up and coming area but still out in the countryside, tucked between many rolling hills and ranches.  Despite its remote feel, it is only a short drive out to the city.  Sweetwater is in the Lake Travis school district, one of the best around.  The community has a large pool (coming soon), community center (coming soon) and miles of hike and bike trails (so much more to come).  Since it is so new, there is still much to be built in the community and the area, there is much to come.  Most of the houses being built are meant to be luxury family homes.  Their prices start from the $250s and go well into the $600s and the homes range anywhere from 1,700 square feet well into the 4,000s.  The area is very close to lake Travis and its many fun lake related attractions such as numerous Marinas, lake clubs, golf courses and lakeside eateries. It is the best of both worlds, rural Hill Country and urban amenities.   Check out the community's website: Sweetwaterliving.com

Rough Hollow

by Nathan Brown

Rough Hollow is a community that would be a perfect fit for just about anyone.  There are many different neighborhoods with homes ranging anywhere from the $300s to over $3 million dollars.  There are lake view neighborhoods, waterfront neighborhoods, hill country view neighborhoods and settings ranging from total privacy to the most full on community feel.  Currently, there are 13 new neighborhoods to choose from with many more subdivisions coming in the near future (Rough Hollow is truly doubling in size).  The community's amenities include a Yacht Club, Marina, the Highlands Village (a brand new community center with its own amphitheater, water park, etc.) and much more.  In this community you also get the perks of living in Lakeway such as exemplary Lake Travis schools, excellent and close by medical care, plenty of shopping and dining, and the fact that you are not far from downtown Austin.  Rough Hollow has always been on the front line for setting the standard for top of the line and luxury homes.  Check out the community's extremely well put together website: Roughhollowlakeway.com

The Lake Travis School Dristrict is a big place!

by Nathan Brown

When moving into the Lake Travis School district, one is faced with an almost overwhelming choice of communities and neighborhoods.  One can pick from life on the golf course to life on the lake (Travis or Austin) to even living in the remote hill country. Even if you are not right in or on one of these amenities, you are never far away.  This page of the blog will highlight different neighborhoods in and around Lakeway, showing the best standard of living that the area has to offer.

Just in case you are not aware, we have a wonderful resource for you today. Residents of Austin and Travis County can take their recyclables to the Household Waste Facility at 2514 Business Center Drive in Austin ... 974-4343. They are open Tues - Wed from 10 am till 6 pm and on Saturday from 7 am till noon. Check out their website for the items that are accepted and the items that are not.

http://www.co.travis.tx.us/tnr/household_hazardous_waste.asp

Also, give them a call and ask about the limits for your drop off. Generally it is free unless you have an unusually large disposal. Now you don't have to wait for the once a year hazardous waste drop off in our area. In addition to keeping it weird, let's keep it green!
